Support for all

Agorespace® is a builder. Agorespace® does indeed build sports fields, yet Agorespace® is also a bridge builder, building bridges between generations, between all players with an interest in seeing that sports values are shared by as many people as possible. In order to put into practice the responsibility Agorespace® has taken on with respect to youth, elected officials and social stakeholders, Agorespace® has developed a unique service: the support initiatives. To Agorespace®, support means:

1- The awareness-building youth meeting

PRIOR to the installation, an Agorespace® team specialist organises a meeting attended by elected officials, partner associations, and youths and residents from the village or neighbourhood. The “youth meeting” encourages dialogue between everyone. The idea is to give young people a sense of responsibility about the equipment they will be entrusted with. Through this initiative, the municipality helps forge links between all the players with an interest in seeing that sports values are shared by all.

2 - Hiring young people

DURING the installation, we offer to hire 1 or 2 young people for the duration of the building project, who will work under the responsibility of the Agorespace® chief engineer, who has been trained for this kind of supervision. Afterwards, these young people will be in a position to explain to others how best to use the field, motivating them to show respect for the facilities, for which they will become in a way the guarantors and ambassadors. This approach represents an effective means of protecting the new facility and also of ensuring its durability.

3/ The inauguration

AFTER the installation, we throw a party for the inauguration, an event that will bring to a close the instructional approach we had initiated. To acknowledge and celebrate everyone’s efforts, we organise a sports event. The Agorathlon Challenge is an opportunity to hold a day of sports promoting outstanding sociability. Since the company was founded, Agoraspace has organised 200 Agorathlon® amounting to 200 days of sporting events with over 8,000 youths taking part. In addition to the Agorathlon bringing alive the municipality’s Agorespace®, it also exposing youths to a variety of sports which they can practice, developing team spirit, healthy competition among them, teaching them the rules on how to use the facility and encouraging its access to all, particularly girls. It is a chance of communicating about sports values.
