Tendered for project in December 2006. Contract eventually awarded January 2008 with installation completed in July.The London Borough of Newham was attracted to the Agoratop due to its dual purpose and striking features. The authority wanted something impressive to go on the edge of the Olympic Village and will be holding pre-Olympic events at the facility. To celebrate this, the borough wanted the Newham Olympic flame design printed on the covering which looks particularly impressive. The Agoratop really improves the look of the park and will hopefully encourage the local children to get fit and active and produce some athletes for the future!
